Antique Reproduction Bebe Bru Teteur Doll

Description: Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE One of a kind nursing Bru bebe made by famous doll artist Barbara Oto in 1990. Not a limited edition doll or numbered quantity, she is a one of doll made by the artist herself. This sweet bebe has a lovely creamy bisque that was expertly painted and set with big, blue, paperweight, spiral glass eyes. She has a cute open mouth waiting for her bottle, lots of painted lashes, rosy cheeks and multi-stroked eyebrows. The artist chose an appropriate curly blonde mohair wig over her Styrofoam pate. She measures about 20" tall and is wearing an antique silk pink dress with antique silk over lace. The dress has been cleaned but it does show some staining and holes. It has pins on the reverse for closure, so you can make it as tight or loose as you like. Under it she wears lace trimmed pantaloons and little silver slippers cover her feet. Everything is vintage or antique, so please do not expect 'perfect' but antique and appropriate for an antique looking doll. The bisque is on a French style, straight wrist, fairly heavy, plastic body that shows very little wear and is well strung so she can hold a pose fine. She is in very good condition and was only ever displayed. There is a little 'pebble' inside that sounds whenever she is moved. I didn't need to restring her as the stringing is tight just to remove it, so there's that. Also, as expected from mohair wigs, her hair shows a bit of flyaway. I have hand cleaned her and her clothing has been washed and dried and steam pressed as well, so she is ready for play or display. She is a very good replica of the antique Bru by a very well known doll artist and displays beautifully with other high end artist dolls or antique dolls. Please enlarge all the photos for details.
