Description: As handle does not fold down this Dietz railroad lantern measures almost 15" high though the lamp part measures 10" high. Aged teak blue colored body which successfully prevented any rusting at all. Stamped Dietz Vesta New York on the top and its patent dates on the brim. Original ruby red globe. Excellent condition with ordinary aging. Patented in 1920 stamped 1927. The Vesta was first marketed and sold sometime between 1900 and 1910. Dietz Vesta lanterns were stamped with a production date starting in 1915. This one is stamped under the patent dates 3-2-27.
