Description: The head of the doll appears to be free of cracks or repairs, the sleep eyes might need attention and paint is missing when the eyes are closed. A wig has been glued over the old wig. We usually remove wigs and gently stuff heads with tissue to hold rocker mechanisms in place during shipping. The body is well done, but porcelain rather than paper mache and quite possibly a replacement. It also has a repair on the left leg. The 28 inch long dress is a thin satin type fabric with lace, inserts and needlework and mutton type sleeves. The center insert in front of the dress has some damage to the lace. The cotton or linen type slip has several small tears. The lace covered bonnet has ribbon flowers on each side. One of the ribbon ties is much shorter than the other. In addition to a small diaper, the outfit has socks and some leather/suede soft sole booties. This doll is a survivor and probably was played with a bit.
