Description: Original Antique Mitchell Map ca.1868-1878 Argentine Confederation, Chili, Paraguay & Uruguay The Argentine Confederation was a political entity in South America that existed from 1831 to 1852. It was the last predecessor state to modern Argentina, and its name is still one of the country's official names. During this time, the provinces were organized as a confederation without a head of state, and the governor of Buenos Aires Province managed foreign relations. Juan Manuel de Rosas, who served as governor for most of this period, was also briefly the president of the Argentine Confederation.also showingPatagonia or Territory of Magellan which shared by Argentina and Chile until 1881.
