Description: This is a "Antique Large Bound 1864 Accounting Ledger 14"x10"x2" J D M Co. " Chillicothe " " First ledger page marked March 9th 1864. All Ledger Pages Start with "Chillicothe" So i would imagine this was used in Chillicothe Ohio but may have been from Texas, Iowa, Louisiana, Missouri, or Georgia as they all appear to have "Chillicothe". Ohio is most likely as it appears to be the largest and closest to my location. This may be a town expenses ledger or an accounting ledger from some type of store. There are 261 Filled out daily ledger listing pages in this and 700 pages total. Looks like a very high quality and somewhat ornate book binding from the time and is labeled J.D.M & Company. There is a smaller label on the spine for the stationary company involved in producing this; so i am not sure if the JDM & Company had this produced for them or partially produced this themselves. It looks more like a ledger for the town. Weighs 7 pounds 7 ounces. One of a kind piece of a towns history. Condition can be seen best in the pictures. Interior is very clean with no damage (as seen in pictures). All sides and angles of exterior can be seen in pictures. Look through pics for condition.
