Description: A china head doll made by the Hertwig company in Germany, Her name, Agnes, is embossed across her front showing that she was part of the Pet Name series that was produced in 1904 or later. The words 'Patent App'd For' and 'Germany' are embossed on her back. She must have been loved and played with through the years because the paint is worn off her name and there are a couple of spots on the back of her head where specks of white show through her black hair. Other than that, her original china head has no cracks or chips and is in very good condition for her age. She was given a new body and new china arms and legs in1969 because her old body was in tatters. Both her new body and her limbs are still in excellent condition. Her pink gingham-check dress, lace-trimmed petticoat and pantaloons are old enough to be original but I can't confirm that they are. She's a sweetie and I hope she finds a good home!
