Description: This exquisite antique Monot & Stumpf pitcher is a rare find in art glass. The cylindrical shape and striped amber opalescent color showcase the expert hand-blowing craftsmanship of French glass makers in the late 1800's. Made of high-quality glass, this pitcher stands at 8 inches tall with a width of 3.5 inches. It is a one-of-a-kind piece decorated over the entire surface with tiny enameled flowers, leaves and stems in multiple colors. The pitcher and the clear applied handle are free of any cracks or checks. There is slight surface wear on the gold rim. You can identify this as a hand blown piece by the fine polished pontil on the bottom of the pitcher where the blow pipe was removed. This handmade item is perfect for any collector of antique glassware and would make a stunning and sparkling addition to any display. E. S. Monot began making colored glass in the 1860s in Pantin, a Paris suburb. F. Strumpf joined the company in 1868, at which time it became Monot & Stumpf. 100% of the proceeds of this sale will be donated to Samaritan's Purse
