Description: Early Original Antique Daguerreotype Photo in Nice Gutta Percha Case, Taken c.1840-1850 DESCRIPTION: Nice early antique daguerreotype image taken during the heyday of popular daguerreotype photography, c1840 - 1850. I apologize for the reflected light/camera in my scans, obviously not part of the actual photo itself, which is fairly clear. A little toning around the edges. This dag has great mid-1800's New England subject matter. Wearing a fancy nice seated antebellum pose, and appearance. Appears to be a professional man, possibly a lawyer store owner or clerk. Set in a nice 1/9 plate brass mat, and in a full, complete AND FANCY FLORAL gutta percha hard rubber case. Case is in overall excellent condition. Beautiful soft maroon velvet plush. NICE THAT IT IS STILL IN THE SAME CASE THAT IT HAS BEEN IN FOR 170+ YEARS!!! Please see my auction list for other early framed antique photos, both ambrotypes and daguerreotypes, some identified and many in gorgeous fancy frames!! PLEASE SEE ATTACHED PHOTOS!!!
