Description: Up for bid is an original antique pre-owned Bell & Howell Filmo Model 70A 16mm Movie Camera with Lens & Key. Found at an estate sale of a collector of vintage and antique cameras. This model was made in the early 1920’s and was Bell & Howell's flagship amateur camera model for more than half a century! Cameras like this one were used by military combat cameramen from World War II through to the Vietnam War. This Bell & Howell 16mm Filmo 70A movie camera with Taylor-Hobson & Cooke King No. 1697361" f/1.8 Cinema lens. Has the original winding key and leather strap. The film chamber is clean. The cover latches work correctly, and the lip of the chamber is in good shape. The film gate looks in good order. The footage indicator is difficult to move, but I am not familiar with this camera to know how things should work. The viewfinder is clear and easy to see through. The lens is clear and has a lens cap. I’ve not been able to get the camera to run, but given the fact that the camera is roughly 100 years old it may need just a tune up. Selling as is. It weighs over 5 pounds and measures about 8 1/4 inches tall and 7 inches wide. The tripod is not included.
