Description: This map is from Mitchell's New General Atlas published in Philadelphia 1871. The maps from this atlas were engraved with very nice detail and hand colored. Most maps in this atlas are dated 1870 with a few being 1867. These were some of the most attractive maps of the time and are a really nice size for framing. This is a two page map on a single sheet of paper measuring 15¼" x 23¼". The title page and cover are not Included in this auction but are shown for verification purposes only. This is an original 152 year old map, not a copy or reprint. I have been selling antique and vintage maps on eBay for 25 years.
