Description: This is an awesome old stock jasper from Biggs county, Oregon. I purchased this from a rock collector originally from Oregon who moved to Texas after retiring from his day job in Oregon. He kept his favorite pieces all of these years and sold the rest through his rock business. He bought the rough from a collector who also lived in Biggs County and mined the rocks himself. This collector sold his favorites to the guy I bought from when he retired. This has been in a milk crate since being collected in the 1970's! It's an amazing piece and I've been waffling on selling it but I bought a few thousand pounds of rock including hundreds of pounds of Biggs Jasper and I need to sell off some of the smaller pieces to help pay for the bigger stuff I'm keeping. Be sure to check my other listings for other rocks and slabs as I list them. I have a lot of other stuff to list to pay for my rock habit. Details: It's a rock so it's old and we'll call it used because I'm sure something walked on it at some point. I photographed it wet so you can see the details. I have overhead LED lights that gave it kind of an orange tint...it's not quite that orange but it does have really nice contrast when wet. We have cut some other pieces that were collected at the same time and polished them and they took an amazing polish. I don't see any cracks so it should slab up really nicely. It has beautiful figuring. It measures just over 6 inches at the longest points, a little over 3 1/4 inches wide, and two inches at its thickest. I tend to do 7mm thick slabs and figure on 6 or 7 slabs around 6 inches long with my low kerf blade. Frankly, if I cut this, I probably wouldn't part with it so of I get bored and start cutting it, I'll kill this listing. It's one of those rocks that I keep digging out to look at so save me from myself!
