Description: AHWAHNEE HOTEL CHINA: Two (2) coffee cups and saucers manufactured by the Sterling China Co in Wellsville, Ohio exclusively for the Ahwahnee Hotel in Yosemite National Park. The Pattern is terra-cotta and black on a white background, based on a California Indian basket pattern known as “Three-Legged Indian”. The Sterling China date codes stamped on the bottom indicate the T5 saucers were produced in January-March 1992 and the U3 cups were produced July-September 1993. This China is in like new, unused condition. No scratches, cracks, or damage. It has been in storage since purchased in 1994 in a smoke free, pet free home. The Ahwahnee Hotel has been using dishes with this pattern since the hotel opened in 1927. The Sterling China Co went out of business in 2004.
