Ideally, water temperature should be 140 degrees F or greater. Add 1 teaspoon of liquid dish detergent. For best results, add 1 cup of salt to dye bath for cotton, rayon, or linen. Add 1 cup of vinegar to dye bath for nylon, silk or wool. Add dye. Mix well. Submerge unfolded wet fabric into dye bath. Stir consistently for 30 minutes or until desired color is achieved (up to 60 min.). Fabric will look darker when wet and prior to washing. Rinse with cool water until rinse water begins to run clear. Wash in warm water with mild detergent by hand or in your washing machine with an old towel.
