This is a first edition first printing as shown on the copyright page published by Little, Brown in 2005. This book garnered high accolades both front the critics and the reading world in general. It combines literary mysteries with historical fact and fiction concerning Vlad the Impaler who would become the basis for Dracula. This copy is in excellent condition. The binding is square, tight, and the text is immaculate throughout. The black boards are extremely clean as is the red cloth spine. The gold gilt lettering is pristine in condition as shown. The bottom spine end has extremely light “rounding” while the top end is excellent. All four corners of this copy is pristine in condition as well. The dust jacket is complete and has the original price present on the front flap also as shown in the photos provided. This jacket has little to no wear whatsoever but for some light wear at three of the four corners which can also be seen in the posted images. If you haven’t read Kostova or more particularly this novel, you owe it to yourself to. And to own a first first of it. And by the way I also have a first first of her second novel The Swan Thieves listed if you enjoy her writing.
