Description: 1983 was a year that Peugeot did not offer the PX-10. The PSV-10 was the lightest model that was offered at 21 pounds (a full 1.8 lbs lighter than the next closest model !!) Why was it so much lighter? Two reasons. The first was the tube set - Super Vitus 980 double butted extra light steel tubing. This was lighter than the Reynolds 531 tubing used on their other models. The second reason was the PSV-10 was equipped with tubular wheels and their other models all came with 700c clincher wheels. This particular frame had virtually no signs of wear which is why I decided to buy it. I was going to return it to as close to original as I could. Except I wanted clincher wheels. I used a set of Wolber Super Champion Alpine clincher laced to Shimano 600 hubs. I installed a close ratio 7 speed SunTour New Winner freewheel. Every decision I made was done to make this 1983 Peugeot PSV-10 as show-worthy as possible. Because the Simplex aerodynamica long cage rear derailleur was not original to the bike I opted to go with a Campagnolo Gran Sport instead. This bicycle is a piece of "wall art" that can be actually ridden and enjoyed! The frame is a 23" per the Peugeot 1983 catalog. The frame measures 58.5 cm (c-c) on the seat tube or 59.5 cm (c-t). 58 cm (c-c) on the top tube. Stand-over height is 33-1/4".
