One of a sparingly few Martin 00-21s produced in the '80s, this is a notably well-preserved, 100% original example. With its Grand Concert body size measuring 14 1/8" across the lower bout, the 00-21 has a clear, balanced bell-like tone for fingerpicking. Volume is ample, yet more restrained than Martin’s larger body shapes, and there’s a sweet, gentle quality to the sound with a tonal color quite unique among Martins. The trebles are round and sparkling without being overly bright, and the wound strings have a bold, bouncy quality. Notes are clear and balanced across all strings and in all registers, and tonewoods include a solid Sitka spruce top and Indian rosewood back and sides.
