Description: Original radio broadcast of Game 5 of the1968 World Series, at Tiger Stadium in St. Louis. Coming back from a 3 games to 1 deficit, the Tigers, behind Mickey Lolich, win Game 5 in dramatic fashion. The Cardinals are threatening to blow the game open and end the Series when Julian Javier apparently singles home Lou Brock in the fourth inning. But Willie Horton makes a spectacular throw and Bill Freehan blocks Brock off the plate to cut down the run. The Detroit fans, who have had little to cheer about so far in the Series, go crazy. Jose Feliciano sings the national anthem before the game, and is actually booed. Interviews by Al Kaline before and after the game demonstrate how the momentum has changed. Called by Jack Buck and Pee Wee Reese. This is an authorized producton of the famous Miley Collection, on 2 CDs. Postage is $2.50. Thanks for looking.
