This is not a Reissue. It is the real deal 1968 model and is Guaranteed 100% Factory Stock inside and out. No back bench bologna. Only manufactured for one year and an unmistakable, unique design makes this May Queen highly sought after. It is in near mint condition and even has the original retail box from when it was purchased in Tokyo, Japan in 1968. This is a one owner piece. No attempt has been made to buff this out, but one can do so. The pickguard has the slightest warp on the very tip above the toggle switch, there is a tiny ding next to the neck pickup on treble side and a barely visible mark directly below the tailpiece. Otherwise, this May Queen is practically factory fresh mint. The close-up detailed photos tell the rest. As far as playability, there is barely a mark on the frets or fingerboard with action at 1/16th 1st Fret to 1/8” 12th. The electronics are quiet and clean. The truss works. It is a known fact when procuring this instrument from the original owner, Sgt. Yamada in Hawaii, that it was rarely played and kept as a memoir since purchased brand new. The original retail box is a bit rough around the edges but intact. Robots Not Included. Adjustments are not performed. No cleaning has been performed except dusting for photos. It will be completely detuned for shipping which may affect intonation and action. A knowledgeable setup may be required.
