Description: This listing is for an exceptional looking uncirculated 5 Mark .625 Silver commemorative coin from Karlsruhe, Germany, issued in 1968 honoring the "500th Anniversary of the death of Johannes Gutenberg". (KM #122) It was acquired new by a family member and safely stored away ever since. The obverse side of this beautiful and brilliant uncirculated coin depicts Johannes Gutenberg, a German engraver and printer who invented the printing press, and the date 1468, commemorating the 500 years since his death. The reverse shows the easily recognizable German eagle, the 1968 date with Karlsruhe mint mark G, it's 5 Mark value, and the words, "Bundesrepublik Deutschland". Inscribed on the edge in German. Once you have this brilliant looking uncirculated coin in your own hands, you will realize what an exceptional addition this coin will make to any starting or advanced collection. The size of the coin is 1 1/8" or 29 mm in diameter, almost the exact size of an older U.S. Walking Liberty half-dollar. Several different backgrounds and lighting were used to hopefully better show it's true brightness, exceptional luster, and extra sharp detailing.
