Description: Vintage 1970’s Gibson SB-400 Bass. Number chats in the pics. Bought this guitar to rebuild because the neck was solid and the bass otherwise in rebuildably good condition. Ordered new fret-wire to do a complete fret job. Then after complete disassembly I went to adjust the truss rod only to find that it was broken and the man that I bought it from had glued and puttied it in place. (see photos). I was looking forward to enjoying the rebuild but had to face the simple reality that I really don’t want to take on the extra time to remove the fingerboard and install a new truss rod. (available here on EBay. All the parts are included except for the magnet for one of the pickups is missing (pics) and I do not have the truss rod cover. Also never got the bridge plate cover that most have thrown away as being simply not practical for performing. This would be a nice bass given the proper attention. I have no case for this instrument. However, it would securely packaged well. Selling As Described. No returns.
