Description: 1958 Chevrolet and Pontiac Autronic eye they are the same identical units for Chevrolet and Pontiac. I supplied templates and instructions for both of these. This was a futuristic option that General Motors offered starting in 1953 in the Chevrolet and Pontiac division. It was a futuristic pulsing atop the dashboard looks like some type of ray gun used in the old science fiction movies. The purpose of this was to automatically dim the headlights when it would see an oncoming car. And return them to high beams after you have met the car. This would usually take about 2 to 3 seconds to go back onto Hi-beams. This is a reproduction item, looks exactly like the original and installs all in the correct locations. But internally it is solid-state and only can be seen in one of the pictures when you look at the bottom of the amplifier you can see the circuit board. Otherwise there is no way to tell the difference from original. But an original unit you’re looking well over $5000 if you can find one. The nice thing about this unit that you could not do with the original unit you can rotate the driver control counterclockwise and will turn the unit off so you can have your high beam headlights on in the middle the day may be testing.
