Description: First, a little background information about this listing. In the 1970's, a friend of mine who had an in with the New York Daily News was given the opportunity to go through their glass plate negative sports files and pick and choose negatives to have 11" x 14" photos developed from. Technically, these photos classify as Type ll photos since they were developed from the original negatives but at a time of more than two years after the original photos were produced. Type l photos from this era are extremely rare but Type ll's are tough as well especially in this oversize version. It is pretty rare to find these oversize photos measuring 11" x 14" from this era and since these were developed from the original negatives, the clarity is spot on. My friend was a huge Brooklyn Dodger fan and hence most of the photos he chose were of Brooklyn players, mostly Jackie Robinson and Roy Campanella. However, he chose some other subjects as he came across them in the archives. He has liquidated the majority of his photos but I was able to obtain a few of them and will be offering them here on Ebay.
