Description: This is a menu collector’s gem! So much San Francisco history involved with the “365 Club” — from a 1931 speakeasy to a nightclub featuring floor shows and an orchestra; and, of course, the “Girl in the fish bowl”. The fish bowl girl was, actually, an optical illusion achieved by mirrors which made a large fish tank above the bar appear to have a nude woman (“Dolfina”) swimming in it. This menu is a 9 by 12 cover with a menu insert. It is in pretty good condition with limited wear. You will find more interesting historical significance regarding this menu on-line. If I am understanding the 365 Club history correctly — The name “Bimbo’s 365 Club” became official in 1950 for the new club being renovated on Columbus Avenue. It appears, however, that the addition of the name “Bimbo” ( which was a nickname for the owner) was used for a very short time in the Market Street location (possibly, just under 1 years). Thus, this short-lived menu (so to speak) makes it more collectible. Always open to historical significance of any piece I sell — please share, H.McD.
