Description: 1930 Art In Australia Norman Lindsay December 1930 Antique Australian Art Book Art In Australia - Published Six Times A YearNorman Lindsay Third Series Number Thirty-Five December 1930 Edited by Sydney Ure-Smith and Leon GellertPublished by Art In Australia Limited: Sydney 1930 (Second Edition) "Norman Alfred William Lindsay (1879 – 1969) was an Australian artist, etcher, sculptor, writer, art critic, novelist, cartoonist and amateur boxer. One of the most prolific and popular Australian artists of his generation, Lindsay attracted both acclaim and controversy for his works, many of which infused the Australian landscape with erotic pagan elements and were deemed by his critics to be "anti-Christian, anti-social and degenerate"." Book has some water damage affecting cover and prelims with artwork/plates in fair condition. Cover with staining and chipping as shown. Includes all 39 plates - first 10 plates clean, remaining plates with some yellowing and minor wrinkling on the bottom edges. Advertising at back of magazine is stuck together and would require some TLC and steamwork I would imagine to separate. Great copy if the original artwork is your desire or you'd like to have a spare reading copy of this desirable Norman Lindsay publication. Please study photos to further understand condition.
