Description: Egypt Silver 1923 AD, 1341 AH Two Piastres Depicting King Fouad In Suite and Tie Wearing a Fez For your Egyptian Coin Collection-EGC442 Details Description: A nice very fine or better 1923 (1341 AH) two Egyptian Piaster silver coin. The coin depicts the bust of King Fouad or Fuad the first, wearing a fez, facing right. The coin has a uneven and blotchy toning on the obverse making it difficult to photograph. The coin also has some wear to the facial details of the king and to the details of the reverse. The coin has the words Fouad the First King of Egypt on the obverse and is labeled (al-Mamlakah al-Mesryah) Kingdom of Egypt, in beautiful Arabic calligraphy, within a circle in the center of the reverse. The reverse also shows the denomination and date in both AD and AH. It is KM-335, weighs 2.8 grams of 0.833 silver, and is ~19 mm in diameter. The coin has the mint mark "H" on the bottom of the reverse. Please carefully view the scan as it is part and parcel of our description. Date: 1923 AD - 1341 AH. Mint: Egypt. Size and weight: This is a two piastres, weighs ~2.7 grams and is ~19 mm in diameter. References: It is KM #335. Condition: For international buyers, please note that the new US postal rates for overseas shipping for first class shipments are generally very high and we are unable to change them. Additional charges will be incurred depending on the value of the item. So please check the shipping cost to your location before bidding. I would grade this coin as a very fine or better with all the details being well preserved. The coin has uneven blotchy toning to the obverse which makes it difficult to photograph. The reverse has a more even toning and shows the extent of wear the coin displays. The obverse shows some light wear to the facial details in the high points. The reverse shows all the details and is more evenly toned. The coin is much better than the photos suggest. The coin has some minor scratches, bag marks, and a few stains on both sides. Be that as it may, this is a nice coin worthy of a spot in your collection. Please see photo for additional condition information.
