Description: 1909-1911 T206, Old Mill - Heinie Berger, Cleveland Naps - SGC 3 On the Player - Charles “Heinie” Berger (1882–1954) was an MLB right-handed pitcher who played for the Cleveland Naps from 1907 to 1910. Over the course of his four-season career, Berger made 68 starts, finishing with a 32–29 win-loss record and a 2.60 ERA, earning a career WAR of 5.9. In 1909, he led all American League pitchers with an average of 5.90 strikeouts per nine innings. Despite his talent and a powerful fastball, Berger's career was cut short due to arm troubles, a common issue for pitchers of his time. He retired from professional baseball after the 1910 season. Set information - The 1909-1911 T206 set is considered by many as the most important baseball card set in the hobby field. Together with the 1933 Goudey and 1952 Topps sets, the T206 completes the “Big Three” classic baseball card sets. Affectionately named “The Monster” based on its 524-card size, the T206 is home to some of the most valuable vintage baseball cards, including the famed T206 Honus Wagner rarity.
