Description: Don't know how I came to have this book but probably kept it because of age and the little gold guy on front cover.Think the the covers are leather...with decorative horizontal bands at top and bottom, both front and back. Gold Gilt on page edges is good as is the guy on front proffering the apple.Spine is good. Some shelf wear at top and bottom corner edges.Inside cover pages are a very dark brown. (look gray in pics.) Book does have some issues: Front cover has worn and dented corners-all except for upper left; dent near center on top horizontal band.Binding has split. Best seen on title page, along with penciled "Birdie Brand +address" at top. (see pic. 8)Title page is loose as are first few pages, and the word "Gems" in title is not totally intact. Content page has smudges at top. Some pencil underlines. Book measures approx. 6" x 4 1/2" x 1/4". Not all numbered but roughly 64 pages. Shipped via Media Mail. Considering the book is 133 years old, it seems in decent shape but please email with any questions or concerns.
