Description: PLEASE NOTE: This print was taken from a book copyright 1880. DANIEL IN THE LIONS' DEN by Gustave Dore "Envy in the hearts of the princess of Persia led to the scene here portrayed. Displeased at the elevation of a foreigner over them all, they sought means to overthrow him. But so exact and faithful was he in his high office, that no colorable charge could be brought against him. So they persuaded the king to make a decree that for thirty days no one should ask a petition of any god or man save the king, under pain of being cast into the den of lions .. " The approximate size of entire page (including border): 11 1/2" x 9 1/2" The actual print has much better detail and definition than the pictures show. The camera I used to take pictures for these Dore prints washed out the print a little. That being said I am listing a fair number or prints by Dore representing various scenes from Bible, both Old and New Testaments. Track Page Views With Auctiva's FREE Counter
