Description: Here's an original 1870s Corn pattern hand lamp made by the LaBelle Glass Co of Bridgeport, Ohio....a picture of a similar lamp is shown on page 204a of Thuro's book on Oil Lamps (except the lamp pictured is a Corn stand lamp, while this one is a finger lamp). This Corn lamp design was patented Feb.11,1873 by Daniel Ashworth. The beautiful lamp has ears of corns with leaves around it, along with a sunken zipper band around shoulder...hollow footed base....crude drippy applied finger grip handle.....4 3/4"tall to original brass threaded collar....comes with a rare 1883 dated solid brass burner that is embossed M.B.CO.NY. PAT.APL.30.83 on the round wick wheel. Good working condition....No chimney, but one can be supplied for a small additional fee..Lamp itself is in excellent shiny nice condition with no chips or damage. A nice clean lamp with no haze.
