Description: This is an early Gaudy Welsh miniature child's toy ewer/pitcher & bowl from the 1840s....It is what is called the Tartan Pattern and shown pictured on page 73 of Monica Smith's book "Gaudy Welsh"....Pitcher is 4 1/2"tall...it has a chip on the rim and a repaired handle which was broken off long ago and repaired using brass screws, which is a very interesting early repair probably made in the 1800s before modern glues. The matching pattern bowl/basin is excellent with no chips or damage. It measures 1 1/8"deep x 4 1/2"across .
