Description: 1113----c.1880 Syracuse Fish Rod Co - extremely rare split bamboo fishing rod Very rare example of the split bamboo rod from the Syracuse Fish Rod Co, circa 1880. We acquired this at an auction in Western PA. Please review the many images below. Not much info online. It appears this company was out of existence by 1890. We were able to find one good article from 1888, so take a look. The 3 piece rod rests firmly in its unique wood carrying case. All brass fittings. Everything appears to be in VG condition. Eyelets are intact and sturdy. We are selling as-is and as-viewed in photos. The first two pieces fit together just fine. We could not determine how to attach the third and smallest component. Overall this fishing rod remains in VG condition with no cracks, splits or major damage.
